The most important factors of transformation in agri-food sector are: foreign trade, investments and "production groups". There were positive results, both concerning the Polish foreign trade of agri-food products and investments in this area, noted during last years. Moreover, the Polish integration with the EU has an influence on acceleration of consolidation processes in this sector. One of the results of the Polish food sector consolidation is the creation of "production groups". The benefits from this kind of co-operation (presented in the article) permit to predict that this is the best way to become the leader in the sector.
